When it comes to autorickshaws I see them as so much more than just a very shakey ride around the city! Or haggling as a hobby with less than compliant drivers or meters which never quite read as they should. I plan to do a series on my experiences in and around them auto thingies. I have learnt to laugh at my rides on these inimitable beasts of burdens! Watch this space!

Zui is Aaji's grand-daughter from a story I had written . She comes to the writer's house in a parkar purkar, shiny plaits and a plate full of karanjees! I also call this picture Karanji sometimes.
Chosen Innocent
This was done in one shot -my old trusty fountain pen and some green ink-that's all...the inspiration is Vandana Babi and the tale she told me -at Max's one evening where everything from the haal of Sufi's and out of body experiences , physics and remembering past-lives were discussed. Ma was with me. It was eerie. I believe Ashphaque, Max's brother, has lots to share. Many more paranormal tales. With nino's tea, pakoras and earthern pitcher cooled water -an evening to remember. It's a story, a drawing, an illustration and a poem. Was surprised the way it came out! Shikshantar(Udaipur) printed it in 'Swapathgami' in the last issue of the newsletter. I promised Shilpa to send the write up on it . But forgot!

I was truly inspired by a piece written by Bina Thomas and used watercolour pencils- the regular Staedlars, a 14 Rs box of tablet water colours -real cheapies but great fun to carry around ! This was my desktop/ wallpaper for ages till I made the FlutePlayer!
